SeqZap Capture feature
Several different automation applications can capture some actions for the purpose of being able to automatically play back the same actions again as many times as needed. The feature is mostly called Capture/Replay.
In SeqZap we just call it Capture, because the actions recorded are saved
as procedure steps in a normal procedure / test case. After the recording, the procedure
can be executed as usual.
Our experience is that captured sequences needs to be manually adjusted to perform
correctly.
Under the right conditions and with the right setup the Capture feature in SeqZap can be very usefull and can also save you a lot of time for creating the first raw version of a test procedure.
Any ZapTool can easily
support the Capture feature. Not all ZapTools makes use of it because it is not
relevant for all ZapTools.
ZapTools can just use a special software interface in SeqZap to create steps in
the procedure that is the target for the recording. The interface also indicates
whether the Capturing is currrently activated/running.
The Capture Panel controls the capturing.
The panel also allows the user to manually insert different steps during a recording.
That makes it very easy to insert delays, comments and documentation cues.
